On April 13th, at Desert Life Church I gave a 30 minute talk to the monthly group that meets on the second Wednesday of every month.

It was called “How hard are you casting your net? Networking – Christ Based. This is a fantastic group that meets from 12pm-1pm with a amazing lunch provided to all from Pasta Brioni in Old Town. TOPIC:  How hard do you work your net? Networking – Christ based.

I’m too scared to go to a networking meeting. No one will talk to me.

2Timonthy – I did not give you the spirit of fear…. DEVIL

There are 4 easy steps
(1) Care – enough to start the process
Love people….
“Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for you own personal interests, but also for the interests of others” (Philippians 2:2-4)

(2) Listen – to what the other person says, who they are, where their heart is.
Encourage them….
“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29; cf. Colossians 4:5, 6).

(3) Time – You have to spend time together getting to know one another OVER a period of time.
Spend time with God. He will direct you. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

*Trust is earned over time. Think of a rescue dog….

(4) Influence – Only then can you have a great influence because you have fostered this relationship, shown who you are, and guided them.
