You Can’t Keep Going At This Pace!

Whatever the case…. things NEED to change. You need the space to get out of your own head and be guided down a path to dream. To create a solid plan that is realistic, and strategize once again. Otherwise, you are going to keep digging a deeper and deeper hole.

What would it feel like to have an entire system laid out for you, that you actually believed in, have already hashed out the doubt, and are committed and excited to see it through? What would it feel like to know that what you are planning, and how you are planning, is actually proven to work by those who have done it before you?

How would it feel to know that you could go on a real vacation where you reset and recharge? All of this is 100% possible and honestly, the way that you could be living in your business every quarter.

Remember, when we started this business we did it for freedom and opportunity in life? Somehow that balance has gotten out of wack and it needs to get back on track. What you are doing right now isn’t working and you need a redirection on your business GPS!

The one-on-one zoom sessions are great… when you have one specific challenge to solve. But when you need an entire overhaul… an entire strategy drawn out specifically for you and your goals, then you need to do it all in person.

The summer of 2020 was the first time I did an intensive. It was in Dallas, TX and they went on hiatus for a while because, well, pandemic.

But in 2021, with conferences barely coming back and people wanting more intimate 1:1 encounters, people have been sliding into my DMs (above) asking me for them. They have been so popular that I have been to four states this summer and served many clients already. I have people asking me about them throughout the end of this year and in all honestly, there is only so many weeks left and only one of me!

A few weeks ago, I published a podcast telling you all about the ins and outs and what really happens when I fly to meet with these incredible business owners. Here it is for your reference to listen to if you are curious 🙂

How Do I Know It Will Help ME and Be About What I Specifically Need?

Prior to my taking off and flying to your city… we have a 30 min discussion and I find out things like what your most pressing challenges are and where would you like to be in your business in six months from now. I create an itinerary of the day that we loosely use to keep us on track (at the end it is all always addressed). I also find out what food you would like to eat and drink so I can have it on hand. We have a long 8 hour day and our energy levels go up and down throughout. It’s important to refuel. We also order in lunch! 🙂

How Do I Know If I Am Ready Or If It Is The Right Time?

If you even have to ponder that – then you are ready. Here’s why…

Generally, there is something floating around in your head that you have been stuck on.

Trying to figure out. Or… trying to do and getting caught up in challenges that are popping up along the way.

You don’t have the time to complete it – or so you think because you are procrastinating it because your stuck.

Don’t worry – you are not alone. People get “stuck” a myriad of ways. They don’t know the answer, they are confused about the answer, or they don’t have confidence in their own answer.

I have said it many times, and I will say it again… it isn’t about the HOW to do it. It is all about the MINDSET and quite honestly that is the number one thing that these intensives do for my clients. It breaks them through their stinkin’ thinkin’ They need ME to pull them outside of their own mind so they can start painting the bigger picture.

I clearly can’t come into your business on the daily and do everything for you so you will have a bit of work to do or delegate. However, you will now have a clear direction of exactly what you need to:

  3. And handoff doing.

You will have marching orders! And I always check in with you a week later and a month later… I deeply care about you and your business. That is why I leave my home and fly to another state to meet with you.

  • I am going to save you MONTHS worth of time and mistakes doing the wrong thing so that you can hit the bullseye the first time.

My clients go home with 10-15 of them on average. Which is a great artifact of the “holy shit that did that just happen?” after effect. But you now can put them on YOUR walls to follow along with…

Why Are They So Cheap?

Normally, to coach with me per hour it is $495 an hour. Then, for me to fly to you, rent a place, and all the expenses that come with it, normally coaches charge upwards of $10K for the day of this magnitude. But I know that is VERY expensive, and I truly want to help you… I am also completely confident that if you implement what I guide you with, you will make that money back very soon. So despite what I “should” charge, this is also a labor of love for me. Currently, they are $6797 for the call before, my flying there, the place I rent for the day, the 8 hours of coaching, lunch, snacks, drinks, and follow-up afterward.

  • How often should we be coaching people? We don’t want to be a “mother hen” and we don’t want to go overboard. It is more important to go hard during the introduction time period. When an employee is new you want to coach them more.
  • Counseling vs coaching where do you draw the line? As a leader, you have to send questions ahead of time that guides your thinking. You have to identify that they are going through something but work through it quickly. Let them know you value them and you have a support base for them if needed. But you can’t “counsel” them.
  • Where do you draw the line of counseling or coaching and those personal boundaries? You can’t always get too personal, even though you may want to. You have to have a distinct boundary line
  • Can staff members coach each other? Definitely! In fact, they are a great resource for team building. Find who is doing a wonderful job that will help you grow. Tap into that and help them grow naturally within your company.

Episode 50: Get Anything You Want With Consistency

Join Bella 1:1 for the 50th episode as she opens up and talks about what it means to be consistent in your life. Hear how you are a product of all your choices in life and how it applies to your business, relationships, and life:

When I first started this podcast, I was just trying to do it because I knew I should be doing it. But the problem with doing things because you should be doing it and not because you have intent makes for a sloppy or inconsistent work.

It wasn’t until Oct 2016 when I got consistent with doing episodes with my team….Posting every single Thursday for the past 9 months!

Now it has grown to 50 episodes and 600 downloads a week!

I was pondering if I should break the routine and just talk to you on this 50th episode?

Then I turned on the TV and a local church I love was on TV and guess what he was preaching about?

Consistency.

I have also started reading this awesome book called The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and guess what he talks about?

Consistency.

So I took it as a pretty clear signal that yes – in fact, I should break the routine, and let’s talk consistency.

I got to really thinking about small businesses in general.

There are so many things that we are all told we HAVE to do. It is so overwhelming, right? You don’t know which to focus on. You feel like a dog chasing it’s tail… you just don’t know which direction to run.

Are your communication systems something you should focus on? What about marketing? What about hiring? What about pricing? What about office manager? What about keeping existing clients happy? What about…. what about…. what about….

So what happens is we try to do it all and then end up spread so thin we feel like we are about to crack or you want to speed down the freeway and throw your phone out the window.

Am I right?

My friends…. we are not a microwave business.

Darren Hardy talks about how we live in a microwave society and want everything NOW.

We don’t want to wait.

We don’t want to put in the long and hard work.

It is a tough thing to stay consistent because we don’t see the fruits of our labor for a really long time.

It reminds me of relationships and dating days.

Think back to your own dating days or maybe you have a child who is dating? Those relationships that are quick to start, often end quick, don’t they? The ones that are slow and steady tend to be much more fruitful.

Heck, it is like our marriages. What are we consistently doing in our relationships? Are we avoiding? being negative? are we not spending enough time? Are we always absent physically or emotionally? Or are we pouring into the other? Working on it daily? doing the things we know the other person wants and needs and vice versa?

Something that also struck me are YOU make your choices and then your choices make YOU.

Isn’t that right?

Let’s think about hiring. You make the decision to hire someone, and if you made the wrong choice, then that choice will shape part of your company.

So today – if there is one thing that I want to resonate with you is I want you to take an inventory of your day. Then I want you to compare it to your life.

You are exactly where your choices led to you be TODAY. It isn’t someone else’s fault that your business is exploding or not growing… it is your own.

It isn’t someone else’s fault that you are loosing weight or packing it on.

I know you can be consistent because we are all consistent right now… and it is a direct result of where we are today.

An Amazing Customer Service Idea That Will Knock Your Pet Sitting Clients Socks Off!

Recently, my family and I just went to San Diego. It is a popular destination for us Arizonan’s… or you could call it a long drive to the beach. It was our second time renting an AirBnb and after this experience, and the amazing customer service we experienced, I don’t think we will ever travel again without using them!

Before we even left on our trip, I was ecstatic to arrive. Our host, Scott, provided me a LIST of attractions in the area, how far they were, how much time it would take, and if they were kid friendly or not. His condo came with 6 bikes, for Adults, kids, even training wheels, and the smaller cart that you can pull toddlers, like Olivia, behind in!

Although, upon arrival, there was a small basket of goodies for us, including a bottle of wine! I was impressed. But out of all the incredible amenities provided and carefully thought out, the one I was the most impressed with was this note:

There is wine in there! See the hand written note? 🙂

This note told me that Scott, really cared about his property, his guest’s experiences, and was always looking to improve. It was a way to disarm the customer, get them to give valuable feedback, and always be improving his service. It also made me feel like I could ask him anything I needed and it would be welcomed. {Even though we didn’t need anything!}

Using Customer Service To Knock Your Pet Sitting Client’s Socks Off!

How many times have you sent your clients something before their service starts? Maybe something like “What To Expect With Your Pet Sitting Booking” and describing the types of communication updates they will get and a check list of things you will be going through each visit to their home.

How many of you have followed up with a “What Can I Improve On” type survey? As opposed to a “Satisfaction Survey” which is cold and corporate sounding, or… nothing at all.

Whether or not your clients had anything good or bad to say, the fact that you allow the opportunity for that open communication to happen can make the customer feel incredibly special. It is no secret that consumers buy from people they know, like, and trust. So why not implement those things in your business?

I have already told 1 friend before I even stayed at Scott’s condo and three more after. Now, I am telling you all…

Have You Copied A Pet Sitting Website?

copy pet sittingCopying another business is NOT a form of flattery. Any business owner who knowingly directly copies another business is stealing.

When a copycat steals another person’s information for their own use it shows that their own business culture is lacking. If a business is solid and has clear direction and uniqueness than no other businesses principals, websites, forms, etc can ever become another businesses because it just doesn’t fit.

As a business coach, I see and hear about this happening frequently. I have seen, or it has been brought to my attention: that chunks of websites being copied, marketing pieces, service agreements, types of services, unique names, even logos have been directly copied!

It has been my experience based on the 3 people that have come to me in the past two months, that when the person is confronted they are less than wiling to admit that they stole something and change it. This is sad. It is the same thing as walking into a store, grabbing something and walking out without paying for it.

Now I am all for creative juices flowing and sometimes you have to “shop” around. Sometimes you mix and match what you see but what should always happen is that the business should PUT THEIR OWN SPIN ON IT. Lets face it, almost every wheel has already been invented. What are YOU going to do to help RE-INVENT it and make it your own?

Think twice before you copy someone. It is illegal, and shows that you can’t think for yourself.
